When you picture a wedding in Jamaica, Trident Castle in Port Antonio is the kind of venue that makes every other backdrop pale in comparison. Perched on the shores of the Caribbean Sea, it is dramatic, romantic, and utterly breathtaking, which means the bridal look has to match. For Adrianne and Lloyd’s wedding day, my job was to create something that felt effortlessly beautiful in person and photographed flawlessly against one of Jamaica’s most stunning settings. No small task, and honestly, one of my favourites. Walking into a bridal suite sets the tone for everything. This one was calm, intimate, and serene, exactly what every bride deserves before the most important day of her life. Adrianne was surrounded by her four closest friends, the energy was soft and excited, and from the moment I started working I knew this day was going to be special.
The Approach: Bulletproof Bridal Glow for a Jamaican Wedding

The brief was clear: naturally radiant, eyes as the focal point, and makeup that could survive Jamaica’s heat and humidity from the ceremony all the way through to the last dance. Adrianne also mentioned she tends to get oily, which in our climate is something I plan for from the very first step of prep. That information shapes every single product choice I make.
Bridal makeup in Jamaica is not the same as bridal makeup anywhere else. The heat, the humidity, the outdoor lighting, the transition between air conditioning inside and tropical warmth outside… all of it has to be factored in before a single product touches the skin. This is exactly why brides who get married here need an artist who understands the environment, not just the technique.
For Adrianne, I went with airbrush foundation as the base of her complexion. It sits differently on the skin than traditional foundation, giving a breathable, second-skin finish that holds up beautifully in warm weather without looking heavy or feeling uncomfortable. Paired with a triple-setting technique at the end, her makeup was locked in for the entire day.
Skin Prep:
✔ Laneige Cream Skin – lightweight hydration
✔ La Roche-Posay Toleriane Double Repair Moisturizer – balanced, nourished base
✔ One/Size Secure the Sweat Primer & Milk Hydro Grip – locked-in, long-wear perfection
Complexion:
✔ Temptu S/B Airbrush Foundation & Lancome Teint Idole Ultra Wear – flawless, breathable coverage
✔ Too Faced Born This Way Concealer – bright, lifted under-eyes
✔ Danessa Myricks Evolution Powder & Fenty Pro Filt’r Soft Matte Powder Foundation – shine control and all-day wear
Dimension & Glow:
✔ Fenty Sun Stalk’r Instant Warmth Bronzer – soft warmth and sculpting
✔ La Femme Rouge Blush – fresh, romantic flush
✔ BECCA Shimmering Skin Perfector Highlighter – a lit from within, radiant glow
Eyes & Brows:
✔ 876 Faces Cosmetics Cherry Gardens Palette – softly defined eyes with depth
✔ NYX Lift & Snatch! Brow Tint Pen – natural, feathered brows
Lips:
✔ Maybelline Lifter Liner Lip Liner + SuperStay Matte Ink Lipstick – long-lasting and elegant
Final Touch:
✔ Skindinavia Bridal Spray, Ben Nye Final Seal, Kryolan Fixing Spray – my triple-setting technique that is non-negotiable for every bride I work with in Jamaica. This combination is the difference between makeup that lasts four hours and makeup that lasts fourteen.
How the Day Went
Adrianne asked me to stay through cocktail hour, just in case. I always appreciate when brides do this, not because I expect anything to need fixing, but because it gives her peace of mind and lets her be fully present without a single worry about her face.
As it turned out, the only thing that needed refreshing was her lip gloss… which her husband had something to do with, as he should. 💋
Watching her move through that day, confident, radiant, completely at ease, knowing her makeup was holding up beautifully against the sea breeze and the Jamaica sun, that is the whole reason I do this work. It never gets old.
From the oceanfront ceremony to the reception under the stars, Adrianne and Lloyd’s wedding was everything a luxury Jamaican wedding should be. Pure magic from start to finish.
